1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the hide.ws service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access our services. Our tool is designed to provide anonymity by stripping HTTP referrers, and your use must comply with all local and international laws.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use hide.ws for any unlawful purposes, including but not limited to:
- Spamming or distributing malware.
- Bypassing security measures of third-party platforms.
- Engaging in fraudulent activities or phishing.
- Infringing upon intellectual property rights.
We reserve the right to terminate service or block specific URLs that violate our acceptable use policy without prior notice.
3. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. hide.ws acts as a pass-through tool and is not responsible for the content of the destination websites.
4. Data Collection
Privacy is our core value. Unlike many other services, hide.ws is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not store:
- IP addresses of our users.
- Historical records of URLs generated (logs are purged hourly).
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Our service works by receiving a request, stripping the headers, and redirecting the user. No persistent database of user activity is maintained.
5. Cookies Policy
We do not use tracking cookies. We may use essential session-only tokens that are strictly necessary for the technical functionality of the URL shortening process. These are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
6. Third Parties
While hide.ws itself does not track you, the destination websites you visit through our links may have their own tracking mechanisms. We recommend using a privacy-focused browser extension in conjunction with our service for maximum anonymity.
